Get a library card?

Library cards are free with proof of current address and identification. Lost cards may be replaced for $5.00. Keep your contact information current and report lost or stolen cards immediately.

Check out materials?

New fiction check outs are for 14 days. All other materials books, audio books, movies, and magazines check out for three weeks. There is a limit of 3 movies per family.

Renew materials?

You may renew materials at the library, by phone, or by accessing your account on the Catalog page. To Renew materials online go to Catalog page.  Type in your account number.  Your phone number is your password.  Click on Log In.  Click on My Account.  Scroll down page to see what you currently have checked out.  Click on the Renew button on the right side of any materials you would like to renew.  Materials renew for three weeks. Up to 2 renewals are allowed on renewable items unless there is a reserve on the item.  14 Day books, movies and equipment may not be renewed.

Return materials?

You may return materials in the drop box located at all circulation desks.  For your convenience, after hours, there is a drop box located on the front of the building to the south of the main entrance.

Return damaged materials?

If damaged library materials cannot be returned to the shelf, the current retail cost of the item will be billed to your library card. Patrons may keep damaged items after payment in full. This policy does not apply to materials borrowed from other libraries.

Pay fines?

Fines for books, audio books, movies, and magazines are 25 cents per day with a maximum fine of $5.00 per item. Fines for audio visual equipment is $5 per day. Library cards are blocked when fines reach $5.00.

Request something that is checked out?

To place a Reserve on our Catalog type your account number in the box in the top right hand corner.  Your password is your phone number.  Click on Log In.  Type the title of the material you are looking for in the box on the top left side of page.  Highlight the title of the material you are looking for in the pop up box.  Click on Reserve Title.  Choose how you would like to be notified from the drop-down box.  Click on Place Reserve.  You will then be contacted by either text, email, or phone when the material is available.  Library staff are also able to place Reserves for you.

Request something that this library doesn’t own?

Library staff will place requests for materials through the Kansas State Library’s Interlibrary Loan program. There is no charge for placing a request. You are responsible for any fees charged by the lending library and for the replacement cost of any damaged materials.

Reserve a meeting room?

We have two meeting rooms for rental call the library at 672-3041 if you want to reserve a room. Meeting room reservations are free for non-profit groups meeting during business hours and $10.00 an hour for businesses.  Reservations outside business hours are $10.00 per hour for non-profit groups and $30.00 per hour for businesses.  Auditorium East and Auditorium West will seat 25 people in each room, if you need both rooms the business rate is $25.00 per hour for rentals during business hours and $50.00 for rentals outside of business hours.  Non-profit rate for both rooms during business hours is still free and outside business hours is $15.00 per hour.

Use a computer or the internet?

Public computers with word processing and internet access are available. All library computers are filtered. Printouts are 25 cents per page. Work done on library computers cannot be saved to the hard drive. Free wireless internet access is available.

Use a copier?

Bring anything you need copied to the desk in the adult room and a staff member will copy it for you. Black and white copies are 25 cents a page and color copies are 50 cents a page. Double sided copies are 50 cents for black and white, $1.00 for color.

Let my children use the library?

Children age 7 and under must be with an adult when using the library. Children age 8 and older may use the library unattended, but must obey library rules for behavior. Before your child 8 and older uses the library unattended, please go over the rules with your child. Rules are available at the library and online. If children are left at the library at closing time the police will be called. Children may make one phone call per day to request rides.

Donate to the library?

If you wish to make a monetary donation please contact the Library Director. Gently used books, audio books, and movies are also accepted. They may be added to our collection or sold in our book sale. The library cannot appraise donations for tax purposes.
