Your use of this computer system indicates your full acceptance of the following terms and conditions.

Internet Acceptable Use Policy

I acknowledge that I am subject to, and agree to abide by all laws and regulations of the state of Kansas and the federal government that are applicable to Internet usage. Disseminating and exhibiting obscene material is a crime in the state of Kansas (K.S.A. 21-4301 as amended). Possession of a computer-generated image that contains or incorporates sexual exploitation of a child is a crime in the state of Kansas (K.S.A. 21-3516 as amended). Copyrighted material may not be copied without permission of the copyright holder unless the proposed use falls within the definition of Fair Use (United States Code, Title 17, Section 107).

Internet computers are filtered, in accordance with the Children.s Internet Protection Act (CIPA) and the Neighborhood Children.s Internet Protection Act (NCIPA). Technology protection measures such as filters are not completely reliable. However, the Library cannot control the information available over the Internet and is not responsible for its content. Some sources provide information that is inaccurate, incomplete or dated; some sources may be offensive, disturbing, and/or illegal. As with printed information, users are encouraged to evaluate the validity of information found electronically.

Anyone using the computers for illegal purposes, or violating library policy, will be asked to leave the library immediately. Any subsequent violations of this policy may result in loss of computer privileges. Illegal acts involving use of the Internet at the library may be subject to prosecution by local, state, or federal law enforcement authorities. No information regarding use of the Internet will be disclosed except pursuant to a court order or subpoena authorized under federal, state or local law.

Users are prohibited from accessing web pages or sites that contain materials that are defined in Kansas statutes as harmful to minors or obscene; disclosing, using or disseminating personal information that could compromise or threaten the safety and security of minors; damaging equipment, software, or data belonging to the library; copying copyrighted material; attempting to modify or gain access to files, passwords, or data belonging to others; seeking unauthorized access to any computer system; and damaging or altering software components of any network or database.

The Library assumes no responsibility for any loss, theft or damage to data, personal equipment or software, from viruses that may infect portable media storage devices or for any damage or injury arising from invasion of privacy. All copies are 10 cents per page and may be picked up at the desk.
